About Vilma Seeberg
Dr. Seeberg’s career started in K-12 education when she co-founded a street academy for school dropouts in Wisconsin. She founded and has run since the year 2000 the Guanlan Scholarship Foundation, a 501.c.3 organization that in partnership with a small local non-governmental organization provides scholarships to poor village girls in one country in remote China. She continues her activism as a scholar writing about the pursuit of a more equitable and sustainable world. In March 2021 she published Family Engagement in Black Students’ Academic Success, Resistance and Achievement in an American Suburban School to change the narrative on Black American contributions to American society.
She joined the CLI Board in the fall of 2019.
